About Witt

Witt is an experienced business and community leader based in Greenville, SC. For the past 22 years he has managed his own consulting and training business focusing on leadership development. His 23 years of management experience with Sonoco Products Company involved a wide variety of general management positions including international experience as President of Sonoco, Ltd. (Canada) and General Manager of Sonoco-Marutsutsu (a Japanese joint venture). In the Hartsville, SC community, Witt served as president of the United Way and on the board of directors of the Rotary Club and the YMCA. A graduate of Clemson University, he has served on various boards and advisory committees including a term as president of the Clemson Alumni Association. Witt recently served as president of the board of trustees for the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy based in Asheville, NC.


 

Training & Coaching

This leadership experience is Witt’s strength as a trainer and coach. He’s been there and understands the challenges. He knows what it takes to be successful. In leadership roles it’s not just what you do but also how you do it. Witt has the experience and insights to guide leaders in these subtleties. This practical, real world approach separates Witt from other trainers and coaches with primarily academic or HR backgrounds.

As the High Involvement Leadership name implies, there is an emphasis on interpersonal skills throughout Witt’s approach. He believes in high standards, personal responsibility and that involving people is the key to building commitment and accountability. Focus areas include leading change, leadership communications, strategic thinking, performance management, and collaboration skills. Based on the belief that we learn best by doing, training and coaching sessions are a blend of instruction and application exercises. Participants’ real-world situations are incorporated whenever possible.
